Biography

Aubrey grew up on the waterways of Gibraltar, Michigan, just south of Detroit. Her passion for aviation was ignited at the age of four when her mother took her to see the Goodyear Blimp at a local airport. Despite being told that becoming a pilot was a male-dominated pursuit, Aubrey was determined to prove otherwise. She was accepted into aviation programs at the University of Michigan, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and Eastern Michigan University. Choosing to stay close to home with a cheerleading and academic scholarship, she attended Eastern Michigan University, completing her flight training at the Eagle Flight Center at Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti, Michigan. In 2009, Aubrey graduated with honors, earning a Bachelor’s in Aviation Flight Technology, and secured a paid internship at Aerodynamics Incorporated (ADI) in Waterford, Michigan.

Aubrey’s internship at ADI quickly turned into a full-time role as Assistant Director of Training. At ADI, she honed training policies with the FAA, organized training events, digitized records, and created in-house training materials for various crew members. While there, she also worked on obtaining her Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) rating.

Before completing her CFI training, Aubrey was hired by Landcare Aviation to conduct aerial surveys, flying a Cessna-172 equipped with imaging technology. For nine months, she managed assignments, maintenance, and data reporting while flying across the country. During this period, a breakdown in Longview, Texas, led her to her next career opportunity.

After the survey season, Aubrey moved to Texas and founded AubreyAire, LLC., providing aircraft management and professional pilot services. Over 15 years, she grew her company through word of mouth, earning respect within the aviation community. Aubrey has served over 40 clients nationwide and has flown more than 31 different types of aircraft. She now resides in Longview with her husband, Blaine, and their two dogs, Behr and Koda.

Currently, Aubrey continues to manage and fly multiple airplanes while building her ballooning business in the Hot Air Balloon Capital of Texas. She is a member of AOPA, Women in Aviation, the Balloon Federation of America, FAST-Pilots, and Lady Aviators. Aubrey has been a guest speaker on several aviation podcasts and summits.

Aubrey’s future goals for her business include providing elite custom-designed aircraft management and professional flight operations services, as well as mentoring and educating future aviators. She remains committed to serving her local community both in the air, on the ground, and in hot air balloons.
